Some of the best looking cars are also some of the worst cars that you can buy because of reliability problems, very negative feedback from the owners, and worse than average mpg.
If you are thinking about buying the cute little Fiat 500L, be prepared to live with the least reliable car made for the United States. The car has a reliability score that is 219 percent worse than average.
Or to put it another way, the Fiat 500L has sixteen times more problems than the most reliable car, the Scion xB. But there are other cars that you should turn away from too. And if you don’t these cars will spend a lot of time at the repair shop.
Worst Owner SatisfactionThe Rolling Stones’ classic song
“I Can’t Get No Satisfaction,” could have very well been used for the theme song for the Jeep Compass SUV. According to Consumer Reports this car registered the lowest satisfaction rate of all current autos.
Owners weren’t happy with the comfort, fuel economy, cargo space, driving experience, or weak performance, just to name a few complaints. But an additional nail in the coffin was its reliability, which was ranked below average.
If you choose the Jeep Compass for your next car, it will definitely point you in the wrong direction as far as vehicle satisfaction.
Lowest Scoring CarOf all scores registered for current cars by Consumer Reports, the Mitsubishi Mirage received the lowest score of any car tested.
But in spite of having a low price and pretty good fuel economy, it got dismal scores on very weak acceleration, very poor handling, loud engine noise, and a “Poor” rating on crash tests.
If you pick the Mitsubishi Mirage as your next car, you’ll be buying an illusion for your money.
Worst Value for a Midsized SedanOn the plus side the Nissan Altima V6 has plenty of interior space and very good fuel economy, but this is where the good news stops.
The Nissan Altima V6 is an expensive car that doesn’t match the bang for the buck that its competitors offer. So you’ll be paying top dollar for a low dollar experience that includes poor reliability, high ownership costs, and bad value for a car in this class.
The Altima is definitely not the ultimate for a midsized sedan.
The Worst Used Car to BuyAlthough extremely cute and unique, the Mini Cooper S is the worst used car you can buy.
It has the worst history for repair rates that Consumer Reports has ever seen in the past 10 years. This car has problems related to its engine, engine cooling, body integrity, fuel system, and body hardware at very high occurrences.
If you want a Mini, it will give you major headaches.
